FAQ
The stuff people always ask.
It's a 3-hour outdoor sports afternoon at Playground Berlin. You play 3 tournament sports — Beach Volleyball, Soccer, and Ultimate Frisbee — in 6 color-coded teams of 5 that rotate through timed rounds. Between rounds, you can play side games like Spikeball, Kubb, Ping Pong, and more! The on-site bar is open the whole time, plus we are working on getting a grill set up! No experience needed, no kit required.
The event is at Playground Berlin, Adlergestell 105 (accessible via S-Bahn Johannisthal). Show up at 14:00 and look for the Playhouse Social Club welcome board.
Just yourself. Wear something you can move in and bring sunscreen if it's hot — it's an outdoor venue. We provide all equipment. The on-site bar is open the whole time, and we're working on a grill setup!
You'll be rotated through beach volleyball, soccer, and frisbee during the rounds, with side games like ping pong, spikeball, and kubb available between rounds! There's no pressure — if you want to sit one out or take a break at the bar, that's totally fine. The goal is fun and community, not competition.
Light drizzle we play through — the Play Day is outdoors and worth it. If conditions are genuinely bad (heavy rain, storm warning), we'll reschedule and contact you by email. You won't lose your spot or your money.
Not at all — most people sign up solo. We put you on a team with others in the same boat. That's kind of the whole point.
Each league has around 15–20 players split across teams. It's big enough to meet new people, small enough that you actually get to know them.
We need at least 12 players per league to run a season. Max capacity is capped at around 32 so it stays personal — once a league fills up, that's it.
Yes! You can sign up as a duo or as a team of 4. If you register together, we'll keep you on the same team.
Life happens — no stress. You can send a friend as a sub, or we'll slot someone in from our sub list so your team isn't short. You don't lose your spot and there's no penalty. If something bigger comes up (travel, illness), just let us know and we'll figure it out.
Shuffleboard is a classic bar game — you slide weighted pucks down a long wooden table trying to land in the highest-scoring zone. Think of it like curling, but on a table with a drink in your hand. Cornhole is a throwing game where you toss bean bags at a tilted board with a hole in it — land it on the board for 1 point, sink it in the hole for 3. Darts is the classic pub game — aim for the bullseye, score points, and show your precision. All are super easy to learn, zero athleticism required. We’ll teach you in 2 minutes.
Absolutely! We have created a comprehensive Rules & Video Guides page. It contains simple rules, gameplay specs, and instructional video tutorials for all 11 of our activities!
Zero experience needed — all levels welcome. We provide everything: boards, pucks, bags. Just show up.
League seasons are 6 weeks, returning after summer holidays. Each week is the same night at the same venue — once you're registered, you'll get the full schedule and location details by email. Sessions run about 2 hours (roughly 19:00–21:00).
Each game night runs about 2 hours. Enough time to play your matches, grab a drink, and actually hang out.
Yes — every game night has a Playhouse Social Club host on site. They'll get things started, introduce new players, explain the rules, and keep the vibe going. You won't be left standing around wondering what to do.
We don't currently offer age-specific leagues, but our players tend to be in the 25–40 range. We're looking into age-bracket options for future seasons — if that matters to you, let us know and we'll factor it in.
We take this seriously. Every player agrees to our Community Values when they sign up — it covers respect, inclusivity, and zero tolerance for harassment. If someone's making others uncomfortable, we'll handle it. This isn't just a league, it's a community, and we protect that.
We want Playhouse Social Club to be welcoming for everyone. Our hosts are briefed to be inclusive, the games are low-pressure, and there's no expectation to be loud or extroverted. If you have specific needs or concerns, message us beforehand and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Your registration is tied to one venue for the season so teams stay consistent week to week. Once venues are confirmed for the next season, we'll share the full list — you pick your preferred night when you register.
Fair point! We're not anti-bars — we're anti-bars-as-the-only-option. Playhouse Social Club gives you something to actually do together. And yes, there are always non-alcoholic options available at every venue. It's about the activity and the people, not the drinks.
All our indoor game areas are non-smoking. Some venues may have outdoor smoking sections, but you'll never be playing in a smoky room.
We only collect what we need to run the league — name, email, and phone number. Your contact info is shared with your teammates so you can coordinate. If you're uncomfortable with that, let us know and we can work something out. We never sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
It happens. If you're having a tough time, reach out to us and we'll see what we can do — whether that's a quiet chat or moving you to a different group. We want you to enjoy it.
Refunds are available up to 7 days before the season starts. After that, we can't offer refunds since team spots are committed — but you can transfer your spot to someone else. If there's a genuine issue, talk to us.
Indoor venues play rain or shine. If we ever run outdoor events, we'll reschedule to another date — you won't miss out.
Register and pay online — we accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, and all major cards.
6 weeks of games, a limited-edition Playhouse Social Club t-shirt, game night photos, a sub system for missed weeks, and an invite to the season finale and tournament.
